We tested out the pop-up pool this afternoon and based on Abby's reaction, I'd say it was a success! We're bringing it to Lao Nian and Lao Yie's this Memorial Day weekend for more fun in the sun. :)

Abby is 13 months old!
Our baby is in her teens! In months, that is. {sniff, sniff} In the last few weeks Abby has become more and more adventurous and now runs all over the house! And she's fast too! She's getting more vocal as well. I love the little girly squeals - just love it. Here are a few random pictures from the last week or so. :)
Our Gangsta Baby!
{Picture is blurry but I'm lucky I even got this shot!}
Look who can use a fork (and spoon) now!
Since Abby recovered from her week long virus, she's gobbled up everything in sight and is back in chubby form!
"Get in my belllly!!"
Here's a picture of Abby just walking around the house. She likes to walk laps around us if we're sitting on the floor. :)
"Da-Da! Da-Da!" Here she is watching Da-Da mow the back yard.

Late Night Post
It will probably be around 2 AM by the time I finish this post. Stay tuned to find out why!
We had another eventful weekend and we just love, love, love that our happy little baby is back. :) First off, we spent Friday evening at Grandma and Grandpa's and Grandma is so good about reading to Abby! Btw, this is where Abby gets her red-tinted hair from. :)

At 4:30 AM on Saturday, we awoke to the oh-too-familiar sound of a transformer blowing and it was lights out for the Baker house! Fortunately it was only out for 9 hours so the fridge wasn't a complete disaster. On an unrelated note, my plans with Abby fell through for Saturday morning so we joined Bryce who had plans to brew beer at a friend's house (who had electricity - thank you Moss'!). Abby had fun helping Da-Da!
On Sunday I got Abby one of those bowls that suctions onto the table and we gave it a try. It was also my day to make food for Abby so she's eating sweet potatoes and seems to like the bowl! It's not fool proof though - Abby is strong enough to pull the bowl up and unsuction it. Oh well, better than nothing!
Abby's new trick is to make 'bbrrbbrrbbrrth' noises with her mouth - it's sooo funny! I'm not sure who taught her this so I'm not sure who deserves the credit. She's been doing this all day and she makes herself laugh too! Endless entertainment...
Now onto the reason why I'm wide awake now. For some reason Abby just decided to stay up and play until 12:45 AM ish and while she usually falls asleep in my arms, she decided to keep squirming so I laid her next to me on the couch and the next thing I knew, she was sound asleep! She fell asleep with toy in hand - too cute! Tomorrow should be interesting....wish me luck! :)

Happy Chickadee!
We have our healthy, happy, smiley, huggy and kissy baby back! Three cheers for Abby! Hip! Hip! Hooray! Last night she was 80% back and tonight was 100%. She was smiling, playing, randomly hugging us, walking over to kiss Daddy and then me, back to playing, one more kiss for me and then Daddy, etc. We must have each gotten 10 kisses tonight. Must be her way of thanking us for taking such good care of her while she was sick. :) Did I mention her appetite is back with a vengance? No more 1 hour feedings - our bottomless pit has returned!
The title of this post is alluding to her new pajamas that I got from Target (aka My Happy Place) with a gift card for her birthday (Thanks Z&N!). This is a typical Abby face and Bryce and I just think she looks so cute in these pjs. :)
Recently, for whatever reason, Abby has started crossing her arms in front of her so we affectionately call it her Gangsta Pose! Wish I got a front shot of her but this was the best I could do for now. It's funny because when we say "Gangsta Pose," she automatically crosses her arms and makes a face - classic!
Here she is running over to kiss Da-Da! Note: she still does open mouth kisses. :P We're still working on that!
The last picture may just look like an ordinary picture of Bryce but this one is different. Can you guess how? It was taken by Abby! She kept watching me press the button on the camera and she wanted to try it out (such an observant baby) so I let her. She's so smart! To be clear, I held the camera in place and then she pressed the button. She's not THAT smart - yet! Now it's hard to keep the camera away from her.
Her latest new trick is she can turn off light switches. So before we leave her bedroom or the hallway, we say "off" and she points her little finger at the switches and pushes it down. It's so fun to watch them grow so fast and learn at lightening speed. She continues to be such a sponge.
One last thing - the gift Lao Nian and Lao Yie got for Abby was back ordered and finally arrived today! It's a 5' diameter pop up swimming pool! My favorite part is the attached sun shade so as to protect my super fair baby's skin. And yes, Bryce and I tried it out in the living room and there is actually room for all 3 of us to fit in it. :) We can't wait to test it out in the yard!

Weekend Update, 1 year old pictures
I'm a day late but Happy Mother's Day! We had a whirlwind of a day so I never got around to posting until now. We had a jam packed weekend again! The most fun part was we had Abby's 1 year old pictures taken by a new photographer friend of ours named Eliza of Glimpse of Soul Photography and she already posted our preview pictures! We can't wait to see the rest. :) The last picture is our favorite.
We spent Sunday morning in Pearland with Lao Nian, Lao Yie, Jo Jo, Ruby A Yi and Uncle Matt! Teething babies like eating cold ice cream - yum! I'm sure it felt good on her gums. Then Grandma and Grandpa came over for dinner so Abby got to spend time with all of her lovely family! :)
Poor Abby had an on/off fever for an entire week and Sunday was her first full day of no fever/ibuprofen. Whew and yipee! I said before she has 4 teeth coming in but it is now who knows. Her gums are all bumpy (especially on the bottom) and it seems like the two existing teeth are throwing a party so ALL the other teeth are invited. It's been an arduous week and I image things will not change for the next month. Abby's usual bottomless pit, 20 minutes to eat, appetite has now stretched out to 1 - 1.5 hours long. That is the more torturous part. And since eating is off, so is napping/sleeping. Luckily lately she has slept through the nights but it makes for long days when there is little or no napping and we're just left with emotionally unstable, happy one second, sad the next second baby. But the cuddling has been awesome! Mommy and Daddy might be a little spoiled now. :) Oh wait, she tricked us! Now ABBY is the spoiled one! Oops...
Can't leave without a few pictures of our little teether. :)

Romping around in her romper.
Rrraaarr!!
She likes to teeth on her little tea set cakes. Thanks Karen A Yi!
Abby watched while Daddy built a giraffe and then she proceeded to tear it apart. The destruction/disassembly seems to be her favorite part. I was pretty impressed by the giraffe...
Then they fell asleep - aaawww....
Then they hung out in the morning. Good quality Daddy/daughter time!

Quadruple the trouble!
No wonder Abby was SUPER teething baby lately! There are FOUR, I repeat, FOUR teeth coming in at the same time!! The two top buck teeth and the two on both sides of her bottom teeth (lateral incisors)! Poor baby Abby! Two teeth have already crowned (top right buck tooth and bottom right lateral incisor) and the other two are close behind. Hooray! Now we can try eating more stuff! Chinatown, here we come! :D
Teething Baby
Dear Tooth #3,
We are all very aware of your presence now. Thank you for entering Abby's life so she can eat more things but please try not to hurt Abby's gums so much. We are all losing sleep because of you and we would like our non-fussy, no fever, pleasant little baby back.
Please pass this on to Tooth #4 as well. Your cooperation is much appreciated.
Love,
The Bakers

This is just a quick bed head picture post-nap. She's not quite awake yet. :)
