So much to blog about - where to start....

Everywhere we take Abby people always comment on her hair and you'd think with all that hair, I could put a cute barrette or clip in it but no - her hair is too fine and the barrettes just fall right out. This one only stayed due to gravity.  I don't think Abby thought much of it anyhow.  I'll keep trying in the future.  :)

Abby's getting better at sitting up now.  She sits pretty well if there is something for her to lean on and I really think she enjoys this new sense of independence.

This past Wednesday was Lao Nian's birthday and Abby's 5 month birthday and Ruby and Matt are back from their trip so we had a family dinner to celebrate.  I like this picture of Abby and her Jo Jo and A Yi.  :)  Happy Birthday Lao Nian!  Jo Jo fed Abby for the first time too and he did a great job!

Those that know Bryce know that he's not a big reader so I was pleasantly surprised to find him "reading" a baby touch and feel book to Abby.  This might be a rare sighting so I had to capture it on film.  :)

This past Saturday we had some family and friends visit at Lao Nian and Lao Yie's house.  Abby got to see Aunt Jessica again and met Lao A Yi for the first time!  It was great to see Mr. and Mrs. Tong again as well.  :)

Jo Jo got all the natural musical talent in the family so it was only appropriate that he introduced Abby to the PIANO!  :)  There is a great childhood picture of Kirk sitting on our mom's lap playing the Tong's piano and I just love these pictures of Abby sitting on Kirk's lap.  We're sure it was purely on accident (and maybe a little help from Jo Jo) but Abby found middle C!!  My little Mozart......  :)

Bath robe, Burnt Orange, Clip chair, Mountain climbing

Abby finally grew into her cute, cute bath robe (thanks K&G) so we had to take pictures.  She really likes it!

We got our burnt orange on for the game on Saturday.  :)  Abby got to use her burnt orange blanket too (thanks Vivi!).

When we got our stroller, it came with a free clip chair (clip-on high chair) and now that Abby can sit up better, we tested it out and Abby really enjoys sitting in it!  I think she really just enjoys sitting eye level with us at the dinenr table vs. in her bouncey on the floor next to us.  Check it out!

And lastly, we thought Abby might be getting bored with the playmat so we decided to turn ourselves into a playmat and she just loves to climb all over us.  Here are a couple of pics of Abby "climbing" on Daddy.  It's great because she practices getting up on her knees and then her feet while pushing off on us with her hands.

UT vs Wyoming Part Two (Jo Jo Day), Tripod: the prequel to sitting!

Jo Jo (aka Uncle Bobo) came to visit during last weeks game and Abby was excited!  She really liked playing with his beard and just chillin' together.

This is my favorite picture from the evening.  :)

"Wait, what happened?  Did I just miss something?"

"What? Did you say something?  I'm so distracted!"

"Oh ok, let me see if I got this straight.  We get 4 tries to get the ball into our end zone and that equals 6 points and if we make our extra point, that makes 7 total points.  This whole football thing is really quite interesting.  I think I'm going to like this!"

"TOUCH DOWN!  GO HORNS!!"

Sometime during the second half....

"Ok, we got this game in the bag.  Time to chill.  I can't believe we got 10 more of these games to go!  I'd better start timing my naps accordingly....."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On a side note, Abby is starting to show interest in sitting up lately.  She has figured out how to use her arms as a support (aka the tripod stance).  Hooray for another milestone!
New hair-do, pantalones, my absolute favorite and UT vs Wyoming
Daddy likes to be in charge of combing Abby's hair after bath time and now that her "bangs" are starting to fall forward, she got a new hair-do!  She's still got a lot of volume in the back so it looks like it's teased up but it's not.
Abby can finally fit these cute little Winnie the Pooh pants (thanks Aunt Cindy!) and I feel like she looks like a big girl with them on!
Lately Abby has been super congested and I just LOVE, love, love when she falls asleep on me.  This is my absolute favorite part of the day.  :)  (Please ignore the bags under my eyes, no make-up, pony tail and pjs!).
Abby decided to skip a nap and passed out just as the UT vs Wyoming game started.  You can't tell but we got her in another UT onsie (thanks again Sue!).  :)
Labor Day Weekend
This year we got to spend Labor Day weekend in Nacogdoches (thanks Chandlers!) by the lake. The weather was great and so was the company. It was a college crew reunion with a lake house, the lake, boats, wake boarding, floaties, good food, lots of beer, 3 babies, a pregnant mom-to-be and football on the tube! Bryce has been waiting for the first UT game since Abby was born so they could dress alike; Bryce in his "uniform" and Abby in one of her many Longhorn onsies (thanks Sue!).  :)
What is a gathering without Guitar Hero?  :)
....and a little man-on-man sun tan lotion lathering?  :)
Poor Abby can't sit yet so we were just watching the other kiddos play.  :)
Then Monday was Grandma's birthday so we got all dressed up and ready to celebrate!  :)
"Happy Birthday Grandma!"
On a totally unrelated topic, this is what Abby's hair looks like after a bath - too cute!  :D
And lastly, she finally discovered her feet!  Hooray Baby Abby!  :)
Windy City, Roly Poly Drool Monster
It's been a while since the last post because I was out of town this past weekend! Ruby and I went to Chicago for J's baby shower. As usual, our Chicago trips are always fun and this one was extra special because we got to see J with a belly bump! :)  The other nice thing about the trip was the awesome weather.  Ruby and I even squeezed in a quick run which was great since it helped balance out all the great food we ate!  Scratch that, we would have had to run a marathon to balance out all the food we ate.  Four letters: C-P-O-G.  Super yummy, 'nough said!
While I was gone, Bryce got to play mommy AND daddy for 3 whole days.  :)  Before I left, Abby turned into a real roly poly pro!  Well, almost a pro since she has only mastered rolling from her back to her belly and not vice versa - yet!
Not sure what this pic is all about but I thought it looked funny so here it is.  :)
Here's a pic of Abby trying to help out in the kitchen.  Bryce will make a chef out of her soon enough!
Slobber baby....
Abbers likes her Daddy's whiskers.  :)
This is just a happy Abby pic.  :)  While I had a blast in Chicago, I missed Abby so much - it's good to be home with her again.
