Time to start cleaning the shotguns - Baby Baker is a GIRL!

Today is the day we found out we're having a daughter. Time to start thinking about names and stuff to decorate the room with! As many of you know, I love, LOVE bright colors and flowers so don't be surprised if that's what the baby room ends up looking like. :)

Bryce will scan in the U/S pics tomorrow so I'll re-post in the morning but wanted to share the news now!

As for the U/S, it was definitely a neat experience. :) It took about an hour and our technician was this super nice lady who seemed genuinely as excited about seeing our baby as we were. They check for your baby's spine, heart, bones, head/brain, face and of course the gender. We never got any good face pictures though. Our little girl had her hands and arms across her face most of the time. She moves around a lot! We have a follow up appt with our doctor tomorrow and I'm sure he'll enlighten us some more.

We're half way there - Week 20

It's such a neat milestone to be half way through this miraculous process. :) Just approximately 20 more weeks before we get to meet our little baby! We're really looking forward to the U/S on Tuesday so we can finally find out the gender and really start thinking about all the things we need to buy. Lately the baby has been moving around quite a bit more than before. I've been told it's really neat when you can see a foot or hand move across your belly in the coming months. I can't wait!

Last night we went to Ruby and Matt's Annual Lights in the Heights party and it was a lot of fun! Unfortunately, I sat out and did not walk around this year. I can't seem to walk for many hours at a time because of the swelling but it was fun to see everyone leave sober and come back inebriated. :)

Bryce just made a really chunky and hearty sphaghetti sauce and I need to get ready to eat. I love how he loves to cook!

Craving Status: Satisfied

I've been craving Bryce's baby back ribs for almost 2 months now. It finally came to fruition last night and it hit the SPOT! :) And he made roasted garlic mashed potatoes to top it off. SO GOOD. My craving is officially satisfied and I'm a happy mommy-to-be. And yes, I ate the whole thing! And some of Bryce's half too. :)

Week 19

My belly is growing! :) Tonight was the first official time for me to feel the baby move - woohoo! I thought I might have felt it a week ago but I wasn't 100% sure so I didn't want to count it. But now, the baby was really moving! It's just like everyone describes it - a little flutter or bubbles low in your belly. Am I right, moms? And Bryce pressed his hand where I felt the flutter and the baby push back! :D Hope everyone has a great weekend - until next time!

Flu Shot

So we went in for my doctor's appoinment today. So far all my blood tests results are negative which is good. We got to hear the baby's heart beat again - just over 150 bpm. It sounded louder than before. Pretty uneventul appointment, which is always good. We're on our way out when the doctor notices I haven't gotten my flu shot yet! EEK! I hate shots! I was not prepared for this! I usually have to psyche myself up at least a day in advance. Once again, Bryce got to see how pathetic I am around syringes. :( I only let out one tiny squeal. One of these days I'll get used to it. Right?
