Laughing, rolling over and guns
Abby is 3 months old today and she rolled over onto her belly this morning all by herself!! I wish I had a video of it but of course it happened so fast I didn't get to the camera in time. You'll just have to take my word for it! We also heard her actually laugh for the first time a few days ago. She must have thought SOMETHING was funny to make her laugh. :D Bryce and I were so excited and we kept trying to make her laugh again but it didn't work. She smiles real big when she sees herself in the mirror after her baths...maybe we can get her to laugh then. :)
On non-baby related news, we finally got the coveted subwoofer that goes with the Rocket speakers that we've had for almost 3 years now. I would post a picture of it but it really just looks like a big box. :P Haha, I probably just angered all my gadget loving friends but this blog is filtered through my girl brain. :) We popped in a couple of CDs and DVDs and the sound is awesome, I must admit. Please defer all questions about it to Bryce who will most likely respond with more enthusiasm. :)
On another non-baby related topic, I go back to work next Tuesday!! I can't believe 12 weeks has flown by so quickly. :(
And lastly, check out our baby's guns! Not THOSE guns - I'm talking biceps! :) Btw, apparently I'm not a good swaddler either... :P

Happy Baby, Mini high school reunion
Abby's attention span is getting longer and she's able to sit for longer periods of time without fidgeting or fussing. It's nice because we're actually able to watch an entire movie with her now.

I propped Abby up on some pillows so she could get some neck exercises - she seems to enjoy it!

We had a small high school reunion this weekend when the Oyler's came in town to help celebrate Kim's 30th birthday. Abby was excited to meet Uncle Eric and Aunt Haley. :) Then we were headed to the birthday pool party where I actually got some much needed sun. I hadn't planned on getting in the water but it was just too darn hot. Conveniently it started raining but it didn't damper the party at all - good times with old friends is always fun. :)

Abby even found a nice place to take a little nap. :)

God Bless Netflix
I don't know how mom's did it before DVRs and Netflix. I just watched 27 Dresses from 3-5 AM today. Needless to say it was a semi-rough night last night. Somehow Abby's schedule got bumped back a few hours so I'm up in the wee hours now. Must get it back for my sanity.

Shipley's, Tummy Time & Poopie Time (aka Bad Parents)
Abby is now 11 weeks and 4 days old - my how time flies! So far Abby and I have not been apart for more than 3-4 hours at a time and last Friday I had a doctor's appointment in town and Ruby's Girl's Night Out in the evening so I was away for 12 hours!! I missed Abby so much! When I came home, I just held her for about 1.5 hours straight until she fell asleep. How sad is that? :P But on the same token, it was nice to get out of the house and spend some good quality girl time with grown-ups. It was so much fun and we laughed so much too - good times. :)
Well, I meant to post this picture last week but forgot. As most of our friends know, Ruby and I LOVE, LOVE Shipley's Donuts. I've said this before and I'll say it again, "Shipley's is reason enough to NEVER move out of Texas." So of course when Abby made her first visit to a Shipley's Donuts, we (Ruby and I) had to bring the camera to capture the moment. Forget the fact that Abby slept through the entire trip. The fact of the matter is that she was there and was able to breathe in the wonderful aroma of sweet, sweet donuts. :) This was the first of many more trips in the future, I guarantee it!

They say to start spending about 15 minutes a day with your baby in Tummy Time. For those that don't know, you put your baby on his/her belly so they can develop neck strength as well as arm and leg strength. This all eventually leads to crawling. Abby's had incredible neck muscle since the day she was born but it's getting really good now. Her next step is to figure out how to push herself up with her forearms but it's too soon for that now.

This picture is blurry but I thought she looked so cute and chubby. :) FYI - you can see she's laying on my legs. I saw this position in some Baby Yoga book and it's good exercise for Baby and Mommy.

We debated whether to post this next series of photos but it was just too funny to pass up. :P Also, please let me know if I talk about poop too much - I just think they are hilarious, particularly for our friends that don't have kids. It gives you a glimpse of the messy side. :) It's not all cute outfits and smiles!
So one night Bryce and I were eating dinner and we had Abby in the bouncer next to us. I had just fed, burped and changed her diaper - happy baby right? Maybe Bryce and I can actually enjoy a meal at the same time for a change. But alas it was too good to be true. We open her blanket up, see the mess and immediately start laughing! Here is what happened next:
Abby: Mooomm! Daaadd! Aren't you going to do something about this?? Where did you go? Is that the camera? I pooped so much it came up the front! Stop laughing at me - this is so embarassing!

Abby: What!?! You're still taking pictures!?! Can't you see I'm sitting in my own poop!?!

Abby: Oh goodness this is so gross. I wonder if it's all up my back too. I suppose Mommy will find out soon enough. Glad I don't have to clean myself up. I'll bet it's bath time now, my favorite!

Abby (post-bath): Who's that sexy baby in the mirror?? :D It's good to be clean! I guess Mommy and Daddy can go back and finish dinner now. :)

Growing baby and random pictures
In the last 2 weeks Abby has really started interacting with us by laughing, smiling and cooing. It's so sweet! She is 10 wdeeks and 3 days old. Here are a few "smiley" pictures.

Abby's neck has really gotten stronger and she really likes to stand on her own 2 feet. We think she'll be an early walker.

Abby looks like she's going to the Kentucky Derby with this flowery dress and hat. :)

We spent the July 4th holiday at Grandma and Grandpa's and we discovered that Abby can fit in a 6-pack floaty device! :) So much fun and so relaxing that she fell asleep.

And last but not least there is finally a picture of me and Abby. They are few and far between because I'm typically in my house clothes, no make-up with my hair pulled back. :P Oh wait...that's what this picture is!
